KO-KOS COFFEE
Other Farm Projects
Sheep farming: As we aspire to be self-sustainable and; maintain a constant supply of manure, we are also raising sheep. The herd now stands at 22 Dorper sheep.
Bee Keeping: We have learned that Coffee flowers last 3 to 4 days, a period within which they have to be pollinated. Arabica coffee, we are told are Self-pollinators but, we have taken a precautionary measure of keeping bees not only as pollinators and a source of rare-tasting honey but also ensuring that the ecosystem thrives. So far, 5 large beehives are installed on the plantation.
Shade Trees: In ensuring that our coffee plants grow in a natural ecosystem, we have planted some 400 Grevillea shade trees, which are spaced at 9m x 9m.
